Gene Alan Base, 52, of Brookville passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013. He was born July 12, 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Luella Base.
He is survived by his daughter, Bailey Base, of Lawrence; and his son, Lucas Base, of Salina; two brothers, Dennis Base, of Salina, and Brian Base, of Lindsborg; one sister, Cindy (Base) Melton, of Texas; and numerous nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles.
He was a delivery driver for UPS for 19 years. He enjoyed a life of rodeoing and all the friends he met along the way.
The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 26, at Happy Corner Gymnasium, 1757 N Halstead. Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, Gene requested memorials be made to Brookville Rounders Rodeo Club and the ALS Society.
