Everett Nels (Bud) Waage, 84, of Lindsborg, passed away January 8, 2013. He was born June 19, 1928, the son of Taylor Benjamin and Rachel Catherine (Preble) Waage in Great Falls, Montana. An avid outdoorsman, Bud grew up in Lewistown, Montana, where he hunted and fished, and excelled in math, science and engineering. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Montana State and a Master of Science degree from Oregon State, both in Industrial Engineering. He loved music, and sang in a number of church choirs, as well as a college men's ensemble called The Agony Eight. Bud was an Air Force veteran during the Korean War and was stationed in The Aleutian Islands in Alaska and Smoky Hill (now Schilling) Air Force Base in Salina, Kansas, where he met Jeanette Lindgren while singing in The Messiah for the Bethany Oratorio Society in Lindsborg, Kansas. They were married on June 18, 1954. He worked for Procter and Gamble in Southern California and spent 30 in years in management at Jantzen Sportswear in Portland, Oregon. Bud is survived by his wife, Jeanette of Lindsborg, sons John Waage of Norfolk,VA, Mark Waage (Debra) of Austin, TX, David Waage (Rebekah) of Lindsborg, daughter Julie Franklin (Scott) of Happy Valley, Oregon; grandchildren: Michael (Allison) and Kristen Waage, Anthony, Emily and Andrew Franklin, Sarah, J.T., and Zachary Gross, and a great-grandson, Charles Everett Waage. Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg, Saturday, January 12, at 10:00 a.m., with a memorial service following at Salemsborg Lutheran Church In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated for the Waage family for distribution at at a later date for Alzheimer's research in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N.
