Evelyn Mae Carlson, 91, of Marquette, passed away December 22, 2012.
She was born March 6, 1921, the daughter of Claus and Segrid (Hopp) Johnson in Marquette.
Evie graduated from Trinity Lutheran School of Nursing in Kansas City. She worked at the Lindsborg doctors' office for Dr. Fuller and Dr. Fredrickson for many years, as well as Riverview Estates until her retirement in 2006. She was a member of Elim Lutheran Church, Starlight Literary Club, and WELCA.
On February 8, 1945, she was united in marriage to Emmett Carlson at Marquette. Emmett passed away on July 11, 1984. Born to this union were Ron (Sharon) Carlson of Aurora, CO; Cindy (Wally) Bunk of Marquette, Janelle (Gaylord) Sanneman of Sublette, KS, and Dr. Jon (Dr. Kathy) Carlson of Tyler, TX.
Evie is also survived by her 7 grandchildren: Tracy Bunk (Jeremy Snapp) and their daughter Emilie of Marquette, Tammy (Scott) Feil and children Taumi Boyce, Jeffrey, Gracy, Jakob, and Dawson of McPherson, Jill Carlson (Tim Cronan) and daughter Taylor of Centennial, CO, Sara (Mike) Lipnick and children Haven and Norah of Aurora, CO, Lori (Matt) Jordan and children Sydney and Myles of Montral, Quebec, Tonya (Stacy) Kaufman and children Kade, Kenzi, and Marah of McPherson, and Travis Bunk of Wichita.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett, sister, Olive Johnson, and brothers: Carl and Melvin Johnson.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 PM at Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at Elim Lutheran Church, with burial following at Marquette Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be designated for Elim Lutheran Church or Riverview Estates in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N. Washington PO Box 386 Lindsborg, KS 67456.
