Obituary of Seretha Johnson

Seretha Johnson passed away Oct. 30, 2012 at Bethany Home in Lindsborg. She was born Oct. 16, 1918 at Falun, the daughter of August and Annie Peterson Carlson. She graduated from Falun High School and Brown Mackie Business School. She was a Civil Service employee during World War II, a homemaker, farmer, and a cook at Falun Grade School. She was a member of the Falun Lutheran Church, the church WELCA, and the Falun Senior Citizens group.
On Sept. 4, 1942 she married Frank E. Johnson at the Salemsborg Lutheran Church. Frank passed away Dec. 30, 1992. Survivors include daughters LoRita (Mike) Doherty, Lindsborg, and Eloise (Keith) Anderson, Lindsborg; and son-in-law Dean Whetstone, Wichita; seven grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sherrill Whetstone, infant son Everett Johnson, sister Rosalie Nelson, and grandson Shannon Doherty.
Visitation will be Nov. 4 at the Bethany Home Activity Center from 6 to 8 p.m. with family present. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Nov. 5 at the Falun Lutheran Church with Pastors Ethan Feistner and Bill Buschbom officiating. Burial will be in the Falun Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Falun Lutheran Church or Bethany Home in care of Christians Funeral Home, 103 N Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
