Obituary of Carl Axelson

Carl Edward Axelson, 80, of The Woodlands, Texas, died on July 26, 2012. He was born in Lindsborg, Kansas on February 6, 1932. He served two years in the Navy prior to receiving a business degree from the University of Kansas. He then spent 45 years working in the oilfield industry, incorporating his love of sports into his job, as he organized and participated in API and AIME golf tournaments. Carl's life centered on his family, and he will always be remembered as someone who put his family's welfare ahead of his own. He is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Barbara; his daughter and son-in-law, Russell and Melissa Dickson; his son, Brett Axelson; his grandsons Joshua and Shane Dickson, his granddaughter, Brianne Bazany; his brother, Fred Axelson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Edna Axelson; a sister, Ramona Huijing; a son, Mark Axelson; and a grandson, Drew Dickson. A Memorial Service will be held on August 27th at 11:00 at Trinity Methodist Church in Lindsborg, Kansas.
