Frank Carl Buettner, 88, of Great Bend, passed away May 25, 2012, in Lindsborg, KS. He was born April 10, 1924 in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Harry and Mary (Walstrom) Buettner. A former POW, he served in World War II as a member of the Army Air Corps 467th Bombardment Group. Frank married Lynn Cunday in 1947 in Hutchinson, KS. Lynn passed away in 2003. Frank is survived by his daughter; Jane and husband Leland Nelson of Lindsborg, sons; Jack Buettner of Leawood, KS, John and wife Cynthia Buettner of Shawnee, KS, grandchildren; Kate and husband Darrell Cooper, Megan and husband Jared Becker, Natalie Nelson, Alyssa Buettner, and great-grandsons; Immanuel, Judah, and Jonathan Cooper. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday at Christians Funeral Home, with 1:00 burial following at Fairlawn Cemetery in Hutchinson, KS. Memorials may be designated for the American Legion of Disabled American Veterans in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N. Washington PO Box 386 Lindsborg, KS 67456.
