Most people knew Cynthia Sue Bentz, 57, of Lindsborg, KS, as a woman of strength, honor and love. A mother of 4 and grandmother of 5, she lived and worked for her family. This wonderful woman can now rest with her husband, Myron Paul Bentz, as she was called home on May 7, 2012. She was born on April 19, 1955, the daughter of Stanley & Eva (Oakleaf) Anderson of Lindsborg, KS. She was a 1973 graduate of Lindsborg High School. She received technical computer training in Kansas City, MO & later worked for McCall Factory in Manhattan, KS where she met her husband of 21 years, Myron Paul Bentz, who preceded her in death in 1997. Myron and Cynthia were united in marriage at Bethany Lutheran Church, Lindsborg, KS on December 7, 1975. They had four children: Crysta Clymer, married to Matt and their children: Isaac, Lily, & Emma. Dawn Osborne, married to Jay and daughter, Eve. Son, Paul Bentz. Son Carl Bentz, friend Ashleigh Arnold and their daughter Karliegh Susanne.
Cynthia is also survived by 2 sisters & 3 brothers. Lynn (& Max) Elsberry of Stillwater, OK. Debra (& Morton) Pointon of Dolgeville, NY. Shawn Anderson of Port Washington, WI. Roger (& Jane) Anderson of Lindsborg. Steven (and Chena) Anderson of Ruckersville, VA.
Cynthia managed and operated the family farm, Turkey Creek Cattle & Grain, in Tampa, KS, following the death of her husband. Cynthia was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Tampa, KS for over 30 yrs. She has served in various capacities in church organizations, children's ministry, and musical performances. Due to her outstanding accomplishments as a widowed-mother & farmer, she was chosen as the recipient of the Outstanding Woman of Dickinson County shortly after her husband's death.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7pm with family present from 6-7pm at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Tampa, KS, with burial following at North Tampa Cemetery.
Memorials may be designated for St. John's Lutheran Church in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N. Washington PO Box 386 Lindsborg, KS 67456.
