Obituary of Deanna Wegmann

Deanna "Dee" Louise Wegmann, nee Robertson, 71, of Belleville, IL, born November 16, 1940, in New Madrid County, MO, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Lindsborg Community Hospital, Lindsborg, KS, after a brave battle with lung cancer. Deanna graduated from Okawville High School in 1958. In 1963, she married Henry J. Wegmann, Jr. and was divorced in 1973. Dee received her Associates Degree from Belleville Area College in 1990, where she served as a writer and reporter at the student newspaper and radio station. Throughout her life, she worked at various jobs including playground supervisor, school bus driver, inventory specialist, and home health care provider. She was always available for her first priority as homemaker and mother to her three children. Dee was very involved in community interests and politics. She was a very passionate advocate for the preservation of our country's constitution and the candidates who promoted this. Deanna had a passion for music. She loved singing and playing the guitar. She also enjoyed creating things with her hands by knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, embroidery, and gardening. Deanna attended Edgemont Bible Church, Fairview Heights, IL. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Belmont Robertson in 1968; her mother, Pansy Juanita, nee Perkins, Robertson Dempsey in 1979; and a brother, Billy Wayne Robertson in 1939. Surviving are her three children, Henry Gason Wegmann of Mountain Grove, MO, Shelley Ann, nee Wegmann, Kinder of Rogers, AR, and Jenica Joy, nee Schneidewind-Wegmann, Rose of Lindsborg, KS; a brother, Donald Edward Robertson of Union, MO; and seven grandchildren, Charles Edward Kinder, Caitlyn Elora Kinder, and Chloe Eloise Kinder, all of Rogers, AR, Allison Daniel Rose and Abigail Josephine Rose of Lindsborg, KS, Elisabeth Marie Wegmann of South Carolina, and Dakota Vender of Portland, OR. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Edgemont Bible Church, Fairview Heights, IL, with Pastor Doug White officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood First Edition Cemetery, Malden, MO.
