Isla Rose Dorothy Nelson, 89, of Lindsborg, passed away January 8, 2012.
She was born March 26, 1922, the daughter of Albert and Mabel (Carlson) Lindberg in Lindsborg, KS.
She married Eldon Nelson on August 17, 1951. He passed away September 11, 2004.
Isla was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, her daughter, Sharon, and her husband of 53 years, Eldon.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Stanley Nelson, and wife, Joyce, of Marysville; son, Gary, and wife, Linda, of Lenexa; and daughter, Donna Hanneman, and husband, Steve, of Peabody. Four grandchildren: Angela Regier, and husband, Ryan of Ozawkie; Kristy Nelson and fiancé, Nick Berger, of Bend, Oregon; David Nelson and Jennifer Nelson of Lenexa. Three great-grandchildren: Asher, Ephraim, and Liesl Regier of Ozawkie. Isla also has many cousins and family friends who are left behind.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7pm at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10am Thursday at Evangelical Covenant Church, Lindsborg. Burial will be held at 2pm at the Burdick United Methodist Cemetery, with a fellowship following at the Burdick United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be designated for the Evangelical Covenant Church, Lindsborg, or Bethany Home in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N. Washington PO Box 386 Lindsborg, KS 67456.
