Obituary of Berneta Forsberg

Berneta Eleanor Forsberg, 95, of Assaria, passed away March 19, 2011. She was born December 23, 1915, the daughter of Herman and Ida (Olson) Nelson , in Lindsborg, Kansas. She was a farmer's wife, active in HDU, and enjoyed competing in the home economics competitions at the county fair. She also loved gardening and quilting for her grandchildren. She was a member of Assaria Lutheran Church and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Saline County. On June 15, 1941, she married W. Romaine Forsberg, he passed away on July 28, 2002. She was preceded in death by a sister, Devida Nelson, brothers, Julius, LeVoy, Harold Nelson, and a grandson, Eames Forsberg. Berneta is survived by son, Roger and wife Pat Forsberg of Clinton, Ill, daugthers, Sondra Forsberg of Salina, Ronita and husband Gary Schultz of Overland Park, grandchildren, Brad and wife Shelia Schultz of Lenexa, Mark and wife Kate Schultz of Nashville, TN, Susan and husband Tony Curp of Leawood, Brett and wife Nicole Forsberg of Clinton, Ill, Ingrid Forsberg of Clinton, Ill, Eric and wife Melissa Forsberg of Clinton, Ill, Nelson Forsberg of Clinton, Ill, and great-grandchildren, Braden and Paige Shultz, William and Eleanor Curp, Lily and James R. Forsberg, and Lane Prather. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm with family present from 6-7pm Monday at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Assaria Lutheran Church. Burial will be held at Assaria Lutheran Church Cemetery.
