Obituary of Gary Willard

Gary Lee Willard, 63, of Lindsborg, passed away January 25, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 9, 1947, the son of Claude and Vivian (Halbert) Willard, in Pratt, Kansas. After the age of 8, he was raised in Salina, and graduated from Salina High School in 1965. Gary was a veteran of the Navy in the Vietnam War, and a proud member of the SeaBees. He retired as a lieutenant from the Salina Fire Department after 27 years of service. He was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church of Lindsborg, and Lions Club. . On November 14, 1981, he married Mary Songer at Salina, Kansas. Gary is survived by his wife, Mary of the home, sons, Matt and wife Rebecca Maholland of Wichita, Nathan and wife Tami Maholland of Gardner, KS, sisters, Shirley and husband Lee Swinton of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Bevery and husband Stan Stone of Moore Haven, Florida, and grandchildren, Madeline, Max, Ella, Liam, Jackson, and Carter Maholland. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Evangelical Covenant Church, Lindsborg.
