It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria “Mary” Craig (Dovalina), who passed away on December 5, 2023, at the age of 89. Mary was born, February 28, 1934 in Laredo, TX to her late parents Agustin and Maria De La Luz Dovalina. She married Clifford H. Craig, April 8, 1956 in Laredo, TX. Cliff and Mary made the Smoky Valley area of Kansas their home for over 60 years. Mary is survived by her three children, daughters: Deanie Lokay (Joe) and Debra Randall (Doug Friedman); son: Edwin Craig (Dawn); as well as 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 great grandchild. Her legacy is the love in the people she has touched. Family was the cornerstone of Mary’s life. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her loved ones, creating a home filled with love, laughter, boundless warmth, and endless amounts of homemade cookies. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, reaching friends, her babysitting kids, and neighbors alike. Mary had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel cherished and valued.
