Obituary of Loretta Jean Redden

Loretta J. (Eagles) Redden, 83, of Gypsum, went home to Jesus on Thursday, October 19, 2023. She was born November 9, 1939 in Salina, KS.
She was preceded in death by her husband Errol D. Redden, her parents, Ralph and Fern (Lehman) Eagles; brothers-in-law, Rudy Redden, Warren Redden, and Harvey Morrical.
Survivors include her children, Mark (Angela) Redden of Gypsum; Rachael (Jon) Doolen of Clarkston, MI; Cindy (Steve) Jancich of Herndon, VA; and John (Stacie) Trowbridge of Wichita. Grandchildren, Christopher Jancich, Matthew Redden, Ayla Doolen, Zahra Doolen, Carson Trowbridge, Colton Trowbridge. Sister Nathalie Morrical of Assaria; brother David (Jennie) Eagles of Roxbury. Brother-in-law, Galen (Patsy) Redden; sister-in-laws, Marie Redden, Vivian Redden all ofGypsum. Many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Loretta spent her younger years near Assaria, she attended Star School then Assaria School. Her freshman year the family moved to Culver and Loretta attended Culver High School where she played baritone in the Black and Gold Band. She graduated in 1957.
As a young woman she worked at St. Clair’s Hobby Shop, the Coca-Cola bottling company and then at Roxbury Bank where she met Errol.
Loretta was a Christian whose faith in God was apparent to all who encountered her. Loretta’s devotion to teaching children the love of God was evident in her dedication to teaching Sunday School at Roxbury United Parish when her children were young and her continued involvement
in Bible Memory Club after her children were grown and had families of their own.
Loretta was generous with her time and talents. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She loved reading, scrapbooking, puzzles, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She is dearly missed by loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator and reunited with Errol.
The family will receive friends, relatives, and the community at a visitation on Friday, November 3rd from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Crick-Christian Funeral home in Lindsborg.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Roxbury United Parish. Burial will be held in Gypsum Cemetery following the services.
