Obituary of Richard Lee "Dick" Anderson
Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Richard Lee "Dick" Anderson, 39, of Marquette, died in the early morning hours on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Richard was born October 18, 1983 to Bill and Korena Anderson. He grew up in the Lindsborg area and attended Smoky Valley schools. In school, he developed friendships that would last his entire life.
Richard was intelligent and learned quickly. He could fix anything and worked in a variety of jobs doing maintenance. He was always that friend who could be called on to help work on a car, remodel a house, or move cows. Richard loved being outdoors, spending time with friends, and driving the back roads in his side by side. He loved animals of all sorts with a special fondest for dogs. His proudest accomplishment, however, was his children who he loved deeply. Richard loved to spend time with his kids and enjoyed teaching them how to do things. They also enjoyed watching and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys together. Richard had deep dimples that made his smile irresistible. To know Richard was to love him.
Richard is survived by his children: Lilly, Haley, and Will Anderson; their mom, Megan Anderson; parents: Bill and Korena Anderson, of Marquette; sisters: Kim (Joey) Shanks, of McPherson and Bobby (Joe) Decker, of McPherson; mother-in-law: Debi Thompson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
