Obituary of Rozann Cedarholm

Please share a memory of Rozann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rozann Cedarholm, 92 of Lindsborg, Kansas, passed peacefully in to the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday morning, August 14, 2023, following a brief illness. Although we mourn her loss, we rejoice with her as her soul joins many loved ones who have gone before her, particularly her son Steven and husband Vincent. The youngest of seven children, Rozann was born on a farm south of Marquette during a blizzard on January 17, 1931, to Aleda and Vade Myers. A product of the Great Depression, she walked a mile and a half to a one room school house and looked forward to an orange in her stocking on Christmas morning. Make-believe, music, barnyard animals, and a creek to play in were her pastimes. After graduating from McPherson high school, Rozann worked for the Palmquist family and began attending Fremont Lutheran Church where she was baptized and later met her husband at Luther League. Rozann and Vincent were married in 1952 and bought a farm one mile west of the church. God blessed them with two children through the miracle of adoption. Their greatest heartache came when their 10 year old son, Steven, died from complications surrounding muscular dystrophy. The next 12 years were busy. In addition to being a farm wife and mother, Rozann taught pre-school in Marquette. She lived to serve others and found great joy in many community clubs and activities. She was devoted to her aging Mother and enjoyed living close to her and four of her siblings and their families. Sunday afternoons were for extended family gatherings centered around food, laughter and sooooo much talking! Rozann came from a musical family and had an angelic soprano voice. She sang in the Messiah Chorus for over 50 years, performed in several Broadway R.F.D. productions, and sang solos in church whenever she was asked. If she had been born another time – another place – she would have studied music and made it her life’s work. Rozann and Vincent were in the early years of empty nesting when Vincent was tragically killed in a farm accident in 1980. She remained on the farm for five more years before selling and moving to Lindsborg to begin a new chapter. She worked at Bethany College for a while and then for 17 years at the Swedish Country Inn. Lindsborg provided her many opportunities to serve and become involved in the community. If a volunteer was needed, a cake baked, or a meal delivered, they called Rozann. Travel became an important part of Rozann’s life. She boarded a bus charter every chance she got and visited every state in the lower 48 at least once. Germany and Austria were her first overseas destinations followed by Sweden. Three trips to Israel brought the bible to life for her and strengthened her faith. She is survived by her daughter Sara (Paul) Wrablica, granddaughter Lizzie (Cole) Anthony, and grandson Louie Wrablica; eight nieces: Janice Sue (Charlie) Wilde, Susan Palasciano, Janet (Neal) Gobber, Dee (Ernie) Beaudet, Laura (Steve) Weiss, Lori (Craig) Hillmer, Beth Cedarholm and Jan (Sean) More; four nephews: Gilbert (Anita) Norland, Randy (Gretchen) Norland, Jim McMurray and Randy(Anne) Christenson, 33 great nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends. A celebration of her life, giving glory to God, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 320 North Main Street, Lindsborg, Kansas, with Pastor Chris Deines officiating. Private family burial will take place prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church or to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Memorials may be sent in care of Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
