Obituary of Harvey Lee Morrical

Harvey Lee Morrical, 87, of Assaria passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 in Salina, KS. Harvey was born October 30, 1935 in Rural Lincoln County, KS to the late Jesse W. and the late Stella M. (McWhirt) Morrical. Harvey was a graduate of Culver High School. He also proudly served in the Army National Guard. On June 1, 1958 he married Nathalie Eagles at the Assaria Lutheran Church. This union would last for 65 years. Together they owned and operated Morrical Hardware in Assaria. Harvey farmed 120 acres near Roxbury, and he was known to make time to help other area farmers. Harvey was an active and longtime member of the Assaria Lutheran Church, and for many years he took care of the upkeep at Assaria Lutheran Cemetery. He was also a 68 year member the Lions Club. Harvey spent decades on the Assaria Volunteer Fire Department District #2. Survivors include his wife: Nathalie (Eagles) Morrical of the home, daughters: Elaine Prater (Allen) of Assaria, KS and Elizabeth Morrical of Assaria, KS; son: Eugene Morrical (Veronica) of Culver, KS; sister: Irene McCormick of Lindsborg, KS; grandchildren: Jeremy Prater, Sara McFarland (Daryl), Jason Prater (Kristen), Sylvia Hunter (Rodney), Evan Morrical, and Nakari Morrical; as well as 13 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; son: Eric William Morrical; grandson Jesse Eugene Morrical; twin brother: Howard Morrical, and brother James Morrical. Visitation will be Friday, August 18 from 5-7PM at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, August 19 at Assaria Lutheran Church, 124 W 1st St, Assaria, KS with Pastor Dean Apel officiating. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina at 1:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Assaria Lutheran Church.
