Merlyn Roland Hilt, 92, of Lindsborg passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Bethany Home of Lindsborg, KS. Merlyn was born May 14, 1930 in St. Francis, KS to the late Fred and the late Elizabeth (Huffman) Hilt. He married Rita Isaacson on September 24, 1961 at St. Francis, KS.
Merlyn worked as a farmer and small engine repair mechanic. He was also the inventor of the tractor tire machine inverter for the use of livestock feeders. He owned and operated Hilt Tire Feed Bunk.
Survivors include his wife: Rita, of Lindsborg; sons: Tom Hilt of Salina, KS and Jeff Hilt (Tami) of Blue Springs, MO; daughter: Wendy Peterson (Kenny Malm) of Lindsborg, KS; grandchildren: Amy Espinosa (Alex) of Salina, KS; Magi Miller of Blue Springs, MO; Drew Hilt of Blue Springs, MO; and Wendy DuMars of Kirkville, NY; and 7 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces nephews and extended family members.
Merlyn was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
Cremation has been chosen. A memorial service will be held 10:30 am on Saturday, June 25 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 401 N. 1st St., Lindsborg, KS with Pastor Amy Truhe officiating.
