Mr. Armour was my high school geometry teacher and he was one of the best/one of my most favorite teachers. I don’t have a specific memory, but I never liked math-and I really enjoyed going to Mr. Armour’s math class. He was always so nice and caring and even after I graduated, he remembered me when we ran into to each other at the park. All around great guy, so sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences

Dear Tim and Family,
I am sending you my deepest sympathies on the loss of Gary. He and Janice were always so nice and welcoming to me. We recently lost my dad towards the end of May from Parkinson's....losing a parent is a hard stage in life. I hope you can all find comfort in your memories of him. It sounds like he was a very loved teacher and respected man.
Thoughts and prayers with you all,

To Janice, Tim and family
I am truly to sorry to hear of your loss. I have a lot of fond memories of Mr. Armour - an yes, even with the passing of 25 years it feels afoul to refer to Mr. Armour as Gary. I mean that from the deepest of respect. I always knew mr. armour wouldn't take me and Tim's antics, but i also knew he always had our back if it came to it. I suspect no matter how clever we thought we were, Mr. Armour gave us just enough rope to hang ourselves and knew exactly when to give that rope a tug. Telling tales out of school, but i remember once getting caught sneaking BACK into the house on Republic with Mr. Armour awaiting me and Tim in the kitchen. The look he gave made it clear that Tim was in for it - so i stepped toward the basement and heard an immediate booming voice, "you're in this too, Cox, get your ass right back in here" and there in the kitchen up against the counter two buzzed 17-year old knuckleheads took some lumps. Zero doubt in my mind that Mr. Armour called Mr. Cox afterward, to which i am certain, Mr. Cox said - good on ya, but next time - let me in on some of that action! haha.
I thank God routinely for people in my life at the right time like Mr. Armour - he helped teach me to be a man in many ways. Not the least of which was - you are going to make some mistakes - be a man about it, own it, wear it and learn and do better next time.
Janice, i sincerely hope that, in the midst of the loss, you can find come peace to celebrate his life. I will be thinking fondly of Gary and your family in the coming days and weeks.
Godspeed and be well,
Josh, Kelli, Ethan, Emma and Elijah

Very sorry to hear about Gary's passing. I was one of his students at Salina Central, and he was a great teacher that made a substantial impact on my life. I know there must be thousands of other former students who feel the same. He cared about his students and it showed. I hope his family can find peace and comfort in his passing knowing how much of a positive impact he had on this world.
